Lawless' TV ads start this week

Congressional candidate Jennifer Lawless began running the first advertisement of her TV campaign on Tuesday.

The ad, titled "Knock," shows Lawless going door-to-door, which has been a focus of her campaign. It marks the start of a paid advertising campaign that will run through the Sept. 12 Democratic primary, in which she is challenging Rep. James R. Langevin.

"A year ago no one knew who I was," Lawless said in a statement. "Since then, we've knocked on thousands of doors across the district and learned first-hand how many Rhode Islanders are ready for change. When people hear how Jim Langevin is wrong on so many issues important to Rhode Island families, we've been able to change a lot of minds. Now this ad takes that grassroots effort to the airwaves."
